MESSAGE

Afsana-Mimi-1500x630

Bangladesh Film and Television Academy (BFTA), has been established from a dream and a necessity. What is that dream? The dream is about people from all over the world watching with great enthusiasm television shows and cinemas made in Bangladesh. The dream is about our actors and directors getting global recognition and winning prestigious awards. It is not that we never stepped foot into the international arena; we did, but we need to go much further. This is why it is very important for us to start Academic or Institutional practices in film and television. That is the main objective of BFTA.

The life and livelihood of many people either depend on or are related to television programmes and cinemas made here in Bangladesh. Now is the time to upgrade the quality and manifestation of this project. For this, initiatives both from the government and private sectors are needed as they are both equally important. Institutional and academic improvement will help us reach the pinnacle of creative excellence that would pave the way towards our goal of global recognition.
